TIGERS STILL PERFECT HALFWAY THROUGH THE SEASON, 5-0!

By Oliver Boykin
Coach JoJo White and his Wilmington Tigers invaded Fayetteville, conquering the Fayetteville Ruff Riders, 46-12. The Tigers offense posted a total of 598 yards- 460 yds. rushing and 138 yds. through the air. It was running back by committee with QB Richard Johnson and RB's Byrd, Spencer, Smith, Shipman, Northern, Scott and Pugh all contributing to the effort. QB Richard Johnson completed passes to TE Miller and WR's Hardin, Spearman and J. Jones. WR Jermaine Jones led the scoring with three touchdowns. Spearman, Byrd and Johnson also reached the end zone, thanks in large part to the big men up front- Chapman, Hall, Ahouse, Peterson, Big Q, Clark and Moore.
The Tigers defense was everywhere on the field. Nearly every member of the defense contributed with Sidbury, JJ Lee, Teachey, Carmichael, Snead, Hancox, Murray, Dixon, Scott, Koehler, Smith, Big Q, K. Brown, Moultrie and Holderness all getting to the ballcarrier over the course of the game. JJ Lee, Scott, Murray, Hancox, Sidbury and Koehler made life miserable for the Ruff Ryders QB with each putting one in the sack column.
Join us this Saturday as the Tigers take on the Virginia Crusaders at Legion Stadium. Kickoff is at 7pm. See ya there!!!
